Celebrate Vincent Van Gogh and his favorite food and drinks with the Social House for the next Paint and Sip workshop taught by Lori Auger.

The evening will start off with a short demo on how to louche an absinthe drink using a brouilleur. All attendees will be served a glass as we discuss the history of absinthe and how it became such a popular drink among Van Gogh and other artists of his time.

We will then sit down to paint Starry Night, which he painted in 1889. We will be using this painting as inspiration to channel our inner Van Gogh and recreate this beautiful work of art.

After painting, we will sit down together for a delicious meal over relaxed conversation as we enjoy dishes that Van Gogh used to eat while at the Auberge Ravoux, located in a tiny village about 20 miles from Paris. Recipes for all the dishes served this evening were provided by the Cafe and published in a cookbook titled “Van Gogh’s Table at the Auberge Ravoux” by Alexandra Leaf and Fred Leeman. Among the dishes to be served will be a hearty Pea Soup*, bread, cheese and a delicious traditional French dessert served with coffee. *The bacon on the soup will be served on the side.

Cost is $65 - This includes a 16 x 20” canvas, use of brushes, palettes, acrylic paint and table easel, as well as dinner, dessert and all beverages including absinthe, water, lemonade and coffee.
