First of Lake Worth’s artist lofts now occupied

LAKE WORTH - — After years of planning, artists are moving into the Urban Arts Lofts — a dozen townhomes along Lucerne Avenue and North F Street that were built for artists with living space upstairs and ground-floor studios.

Nick and Ashley Nardone, just married in January, moved to Lake Worth from Broward County in early June to become the first owners of an artist loft. They paid $137,000 for their two-bedroom, 2.5-bath loft, which they say will fit their creative lifestyles perfectly...

Shanon Materio Florida Retailer of the Year

TALLAHASSEE – Shanon Materio, president and owner of McMow Art Glass in Lake Worth, FL, has been named the 2013 Florida Retailer of the Year by the Florida Retail Federation. She will be presented with the FRF Retailer of the Year Award at a special luncheon on June 20 at the Peabody Orlando during the FRF Summer Meeting, held in conjunction with the University of Florida’s Retail Smarter Conference.

Murals to decorate arch-shaped windows near Lake Worth city hall

LAKE WORTH - — The arch-shaped windows of a historic building west of city hall will be painted with murals in November when the Lake Worth Community Redevelopment Agency kicks off its Nine Arch Mural Project.

Purchase Lake Worth Centennial Postcards

LULA Lake Worth Arts and the City of Lake Worth’s Historic Preservation staff invited artists in Palm Beach County to submit artwork for the Centennial Postcard Project. Known as a community that embraces artistic expression the City of Lake Worth is celebrating its 100 anniversary this year. The goal of this project was to provide a Centennial keepsake for the community to purchase while promoting the arts and historic preservation in Lake Worth. Proceeds from the sale of the Centennial Postcards will benefit LULA Lake Worth Arts and the City’s Historic Preservation Program. Five works of art were selected for the postcard project, making the selection process competitive.

It’s Finally Here! The New www.lakeworthnsp.org website!

The Lake Worth NSP2 Consortium is proud to announce the release of our newly designed website. By creating www.lakeworthnsp.org, interested parties can access current information regarding the Neighborhood Stabilization Program in Lake Worth.

The Neighborhood Stabilization Program2 (NSP2) was established to stabilize neighborhoods whose viability has been and continues to be damaged by the economic effects of properties that have been foreclosed upon and abandoned.

This site will provide the most recent accomplishments, events, updates on the Urban Arts Lofts (UAL) and the progress of homes being remodeled, as well as new construction.  Potential homebuyers can log onto this site and view a listing of properties ready for rent or purchase, view eligibility requirements and  download the necessary intake forms - all with a few clicks of the mouse.
