Lake Worth Beach CRA logoLAKE WORTH BEACH, FL November 4, 2019 -- Timed to the first day of FOCUS, a week of art and cultural programing in Downtown Lake Worth Beach, the Lake Worth Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) today unveiled a new logo for the CRA district that reflects and relates to its mission and the key characteristic of the City's 'brand personality.' It also released a new, illustrated map of Downtown's murals, with locations of 28 installations and the names of the artists.

The logo's round shape reflects the CRA's pivotal role as a connector of the community. A pink 'sunrise,' yellow 'sun rays' and the oceanfront represent defining elements of the Lake Worth Beach experience, communicating energy, optimism and outdoor living/recreation that is endemic to life in the downtown. The "leaves" on each side of the mark represent vibrancy and growth and give the design a Florida feel. Interpretive shapes that anchor the base of the logo mark represent buildings, commerce and the growing downtown.

West Palm Beach-based O'Donnell Agency designed the new logo. "The CRA had an attractive logo for 13 years that wasn't meaningful in terms of its representation of the CRA's mission or the new vitality in the downtown district," said Joan Oliva, Executive Director of the CRA. "The color palette of the new logo is drawn from the design of the new wayfinding signage, also designed by O'Donnell Agency, now being installed around the district. It was important that the two relate and appear part of the same brand family. That begins to create a clear identity for our downtown."

The mural map "...was a labor of love, and took four months of detailed work," said Emily Theodossakos, Marketing Program Manager of the CRA. "We wanted an exceptionally artistic, distinctive presentation of our murals, and Carey O'Donnell's design team chose an intricate, vintage, pen-and-ink illustration of Lake Worth's fun in the sun that feels like a tourism brochure from the 50s. It works - really well - and stands out from anything of its kind in Florida. Just like our Downtown!"

The pocket-sized map is a 4.5" square that unfolds to 11" x 17" and will be available at no cost in Lake Worth Beach City Hall, Lake Worth Beach Visitors Center, Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, and businesses throughout Lake Worth Beach.

Both of the new design assets were unveiled today on the first day of FOCUS which is a month-long, annual event that offers multidisciplinary art and cultural experiences at numerous downtown venues. FOCUS includes live mural paintings, art exhibitions and live music - plus the holiday tree lighting packed into a single, saturated, and very inspiring month in November.
