There is an immediate association between the Downtown Lake Worth Beach experience and visual arts. There are dozens of art and cultural experiences on the city’s annual calendar, and experienced for free on our city streets like the many murals on this map – which in itself is a work of art!
The 9-Arch Mural Project at 1000 Lake Avenue was the first of dozens of murals that created the LULA Lake Worth Arts Mural Project. The goal was to create paid opportunities to showcase local artists as we beautified unsightly facades within the CRA district. The project has sparked a more vibrant community enhanced by art and art-based education.
In 2017, the CRA first collaborated with CANVAS Outdoor Museum™, the nation’s largest outdoor museum show. The partnership allowed Lake Worth Arts to assemble some of the world’s most innovative contemporary artists, collectors and art influencers to turn a spotlight on the CRA’s commitment to art in public places and the role that plays in building and sustaining a vibrant community.
FOCUS is a month long, annual event that offers multidisciplinary art and cultural experiences at numerous downtown venues. Lectures, workshops, an architectural design competition, art exhibitions and live music plus the holiday tree lighting packed into a single, saturated, very inspiring month in November.
