DINA BAKER FUND FOR MATURE FEMALE ARTISTS

Ms. Dina Baker has established the Dina Baker Fund for Mature Female Artists with the Cultural Council to help stabilize and strengthen the careers of female Artists sixty (60) years of age or older who reside and work in Palm Beach County, who have recognizable artistic merit and who are deserving of financial assistance (whether professional, personal or both) to enable them to further their artistic development and achievement.
A grant of $10,000 is awarded to one individual meeting the eligibility requirements and demonstrating artistic merit and financial need. Funds can be used to support professional development, arts related exhibition expenses, equipment, supplies, healthcare costs and/or basic living expenses. In addition, the recipient receives a one-year Artist Portfolio membership from the Cultural Council and a solo show in the Cultural Council gallery. More information

Fiber (Non-Wearable) Artists for ArtiGras 2020
Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce

The Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce would like to fill festival spaces with additional non-wearable fiber artists. The 35th annual ArtiGras is a two-day ticketed outdoor fine arts festival over Presidents’ Day weekend which attracts tens of thousands of art lovers and collectors.

ArtiGras showcases a juried exhibition of gallery-quality art and offers a unique opportunity for visitors to interact with and purchase directly from the artists. Patrons are residents of Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast along with tourists from around the country visiting during peak season. ArtiGras was recently named one of the top 10 fine art festivals in the country and features 290 juried artists along with artist demonstrations, a Youth Art Competition, an ArtiKids children’s interactive activity area and live entertainment. We are looking artists/artisans to submit work to be sold at the Cultural Council’s Roe Green Uniquely Palm Beach Store. If you’re an artist who works on small dioramas or sculptures, glass works and other objects d’art OR jewelry—necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings—we want you! All price ranges and styles/material are welcome.

Applicants must live or work in Palm Beach County for at least 6 months of the year AND be a member of the Cultural Council.

Artist Innovation Fellowship Program
Cultural Council of Palm Beach County

The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County is pleased to announce its new Artist Innovation Fellowship Program, which will help support the careers and artistic endeavors of local creative professionals.

Through a generous grant from the Leonard and Norma Klorfine Foundation, the Cultural Council will award five $7,500 Artist Innovation Fellowships to Palm Beach County creative professionals of various artistic disciplines.

“The Cultural Council believes that a strong cultural sector actively contributes to a community’s economic vitality and is central to quality of life,” said Dave Lawrence, the Council’s president & CEO. “This fellowship is different from other professional development opportunities because it leaves room for personal creative growth. We believe our community will benefit greatly from this investment as these artists work to foster innovation and creativity through their chosen activities.”

Fellows may explore new ideas, new or familiar avenues of artistic expression, apprenticeships, research or instruction between May 1, 2020 and April 30, 2021. More information

Contemporary Fiber in Florida 2020

Deadline: January 15, 2020 Florida artists are invited to submit up to five pieces for a juried exhibition showcasing original work representing contemporary approaches to fiber art. We are seeking work that highlights current trends and innovations in this highly versatile and constantly evolving medium.

Categories are: Wearable Art, Wall Works, Free-standing Works and Mixed Media. All work must be primarily natural or synthetic fiber in content or executed using traditional fiber techniques and be original in concept, design and execution. Cash prizes will be awarded. Description: GardensArt, an award winning, Art in Public Places rotating exhibition program was established in 1989. Submissions are reviewed monthly by committee. Visit the venue and exhibit space at 10500 N. Military Trail, City Hall Lobby, M-F 8am -5pm. 6 week exhibitions are free for the artist and promoted by the City of Palm Beach Gardens. Call for Artists - Housing

The Lake Worth CRA has partnered with Neighborhood Renaissance to develop additional live/work units for artists just west of Dixie Highway. Building on the success of the Urban Arts Lofts, the CRA is partnering with Neighborhood Renaissance and developing 8 new live/work, for sale units specifically for artists. This new development located at 110 North F Street is directly across from the new Lake Worth Arts Center. The project will be Florida Green Certified and will include community/ commercial space for cultural uses. All units must be sold to Artists who meet the established definition.

Following the NSP guidelines, all units must be sold to households making 120% or less of AMI. Some down-payment assistance will be offered. For more information please check out artloftsLW.com.

Resource Depot is seeking teaching artists for our after school program through Prime Time of Palm Beach County. Our teaching artists go out to local after school sites & conduct 6, 1 hour long classes through a span of 6 weeks. We are looking for a candidate who has a flexible schedule, as this is considered a part time, independent contractor position. All classes incorporate making projects with reused materials; each class is about having fun and engaging students to become advocates for the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle movement.
