“Unbought & Unbossed” is a music theatre piece featuring the dramatic stories of two African American women: Sally Hemings, Thomas Jefferson’s slave and mother of five of his children, and Shirley Chisholm, the first African American in the U.S. Congress and the first African American woman to run for President. Performance by the Core Ensemble, actor, cello, piano, percussion. A reception follows the performance; the event is free and open to the public. Support from the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of State Division of Cultural Affairs.
