2018 Florida Biennial – Open Call to Artists

The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood
As a ninth juried Art and Culture Center/Hollywood open call, the 2018 Florida Biennial is open to artists residing in the state of Florida working in any medium. This edition focuses on exploring multicultural identities, discussing ecological issues, and imagining a robust cultural climate for Florida within the global economy. The exhibition opens September 14 from 6-9 pm and will run through Oct. 21, 2018.

3rd Annual West Palm Beach Arts Festival

The Armory Art Center is accepting applications for the 3rd Annual West Palm Beach Arts Festival! The festival will feature local and out-of-town artists, live music, demonstrations, food trucks, and activities for all ages. The campus hosts space for 90 10’x10’ tents throughout the Armory’s campus. Tents will be located outdoors in the sculpture garden and in the parking lot. Cash Awards will be awarded for Best in Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place, and Honorable Mention.

Now in its 12th year, STYLE is a show, sale, and benefit celebrating independent contemporary design. This is a curated event focused on the highest quality fashion, jewelry, and accessories.

STYLE ‘18 will take place over two days on Saturday, November 3, 2018 (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and Sunday, November 4, 2018 (10:00 AM – 4:00 PM) at the Museum of Craft and Design in San Francisco. Our esteemed jurors will hand select 36 national and international designers to participate in the 2018 event. Attendees can experience and purchase original pieces as well as meet the makers. All proceeds will go to support MCD’s MakeArt education program for children and families in the Bay Area.

Call for Artists - Housing

The Lake Worth CRA has partnered with Neighborhood Renaissance to develop additional live/work units for artists just west of Dixie Highway. Building on the success of the Urban Arts Lofts, the CRA is partnering with Neighborhood Renaissance and developing 8 new live/work, for sale units specifically for artists. This new development located at 110 North F Street is directly across from the new Lake Worth Arts Center. The project will be Florida Green Certified and will include community/ commercial space for cultural uses. All units must be sold to Artists who meet the established definition.

Following the NSP guidelines, all units must be sold to households making 120% or less of AMI. Some down-payment assistance will be offered. For more information please check out artloftsLW.com.

Resource Depot is seeking teaching artists for our after school program through Prime Time of Palm Beach County. Our teaching artists go out to local after school sites & conduct 6, 1 hour long classes through a span of 6 weeks. We are looking for a candidate who has a flexible schedule, as this is considered a part time, independent contractor position. All classes incorporate making projects with reused materials; each class is about having fun and engaging students to become advocates for the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle movement. Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery will again be holding a series of Exhibitions throughout the year. We will be sending out individual "Calls" for each of these, as they approach. It is always a good idea to give you an over-view of all topics, as well as dates, so you can prepare, in advance, for the ones in which you want to participate. As you look over our shows, and titles, remember: The works are YOUR interpretation of the topic.

Lake Worth Concert Band performs concerts for functions such as: afternoon in the park, holidays, and city events. Free of change to the public. Amyone who plays a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument is welcome to join the band. The band rehearses once a week.
